Certiphi Screening, Inc. has been selected by the American Dental Education Association as its partner in developing a centralized student screening program for its member institutions. Certiphi^® provides customized background screening, fingerprinting, OIG/EPLS and healthcare exclusions screening, occupational health screening and DOT compliance services to colleges, universities and healthcare organizations nationwide.

In developing a centralized student background check program with Certiphi^®, ADEA’s goals are to streamline the background check process for dental schools and their students; to lower screening costs for dental students; and to help ensure patient safety and compliance with state laws and regulations. ADEA is the latest healthcare-related program of study to create a centralized background check program for incoming students. The Association of American Medical Colleges and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy chose Certiphi^® to develop and administer criminal background check programs for incoming students. Certiphi^® is also the only company whose applicant screening services are endorsed by the American Hospital Association.

The ADEA student background check program will run through AADSAS, ADEA’s centralized predoctoral application system. It will allow dental schools to select the background check information they want to receive once a student is accepted. The ADEA program will launch during the 2010-2011 dental school admissions cycle.
