Utah Enacts the Utah Consumer Privacy Act with Notable Exemption
On March 24, 2022, Governor Spencer Cox signed the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (“the UCPA”) into law making Utah the fourth state to enact a consumer privacy legislation.
Utah is now the fourth state to implement a consumer privacy law, joining California, Virginia, and Colorado. This paper explores the UCPA's applicability, exemptions, and requirements such as enforcement, consumer rights, and business operational requirements.
