President Biden Signs Stopgap Spending Measure; Federal Government Funded until December 3, 2021
U.S. government funding was set to expire at 11:59 p.m. on September 30, 2021. Yesterday, President Biden signed a stopgap spending measure which will fund the government through December 3, 2021.
Because the stopgap spending measure was passed, a partial government shutdown has been avoided. As such, the E-Verify system and E-Verify support remain online. Employers are able to create new cases and resolve tentative nonconfirmations (TNCs) as they normally would.
However, a lapse in appropriations may occur at 11:59 p.m. on December 3, 2021. If such a lapse were to occur, the E-Verify system and E-Verify support would be offline and employers would not be able to create new cases or resolve TNCs.
Certiphi Screening has developed solutions, strategies, and contingencies to handle any shutdown-induced E-Verify outages with minimal impact to our clients.
This is an evolving situation that Certiphi Screening is monitoring and will continue to inform our clients of updates as they become available.
